"To me, make up is art. It allows me to enhance the natural beauty inherent in each person I am working with.
It fascinates me time and time again how going with the flow of a face and just highlighting the features transforms not only the image of a person, but also their view on themselves.
There is nothing more fulfilling to me than presenting the result and seeing their happy faces reflecting back.
It is the perfect way of reconnecting my models with a feeling of beauty and self love while at the same time, creating a piece of art together with them."
About the artist:
Clarette Soh
Growing up, I've always had a passion towards creativity. Throughout high school, a few of the subjects I took part in were painting, graphics, design and drama. My friends would ask me to do their hair and makeup for ball and wedding occasions. It was something I had always enjoyed doing but never thought of ever pursuing it as a career path!
Before I decided to study makeup, I already had the experience of freelance modeling and acting in the film industry so it is refreshing to now be behind the camera and watching it all come to life!

After high school, I got a job working in the sales industry for about 4 years. Although sales is good skill to have in my opinion, I decided 'I do not want to do this for the rest of my life.' So thanks to my best friend Meg, brainstorming and exploring alternative career paths, it turns out the thing I thought of as a hobby, could actually be an exciting career... so here I am!

I spent a lot of time and did a lot of research on which was the best makeup school to attend for me. I wanted a school that would teach makeup and hair styling without having to take two separate courses. It was an easy decision choosing "The Makeup School NZ "after having read that they taught makeup, hair styling and even special effects which was an extra bonus! It was the best decision I ever made, graduating with a Diploma in Film, TV, Fashion and Special Effects and received 'TMS Best All Rounder Award'.
Since then, I have worked on multiple TV series, short films, commercials, theater productions, fashion shoots, weddings and more!

"Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life." - Mark Twain
